This page is an attempt to collect all my early work on RDF and show the progression from early experiments to an official W3C standard.

1.1997-02-20PICS-NG Label Syntax Proposal (version 1), my first attempt to extend the PICS model (and syntax) into a full-blown KR language. To my knowledge, no draft version earlier than this survives.
2.1997-05-14PICS-NG Metadata Model and Label Syntax (version 3.5), first collaborative public version as submitted to the PICS and DSig Collections working groups for comments.
3.1997-08-01Resource Description Framework (RDF) Model and Syntax (version 0.1), first public working draft of what would later become the actual RDF Model and Syntax Specification (W3C Recommendation).
4.1997-11-13Introduction to RDF Metadata, a W3C "Note", intended to serve as an introduction to the ongoing work.
5.1998-01-nnRDF Metadata and Agent Architectures, a paper at the MCC/OMG/DARPA Workshop on Compositional Software Architectures, Monterey (CA), January 1998. My first published paper elaborating the motivation and use case for intelligent agents and how RDF supports this.
6.1998-07-nnWeb Metadata: A Matter of Semantics, IEEE Internet Computing 2(4): 30-37 (1998).
7.1998-12-03Enabling Inferencing, a position paper at the W3C Query Languages meeting in Boston. Collaborative work with R.V. Guha, Eric Miller, and Dan Brickley. An early preponderance of querying as a form of reasoning.
8.1999-01-05Resource Description Framework (RDF) Model and Syntax Specification, W3C "Proposed Recommendation", last version before officially becoming an RDF standard.
9.1999-02-22Resource Description Framework (RDF) Model and Syntax Specification, published W3C Recommendation, first official RDF standard. An errata document exists also.

Note that there were versions in between the above documents. Some of the documents include some version history.
